It's tough for reasonable people to disagree with your statement.

The only problem I see here is that Dr. Mercola suggests soy limits far less

than what's found in a traditionally Asian diet, and he severely trashes soy

on top of that.

Which does a reasonable person follow?

[re: Dr. Mercola] Yes, I have certainly noticed his " veggie bashing " , and

quite

honestly laughed my a** off at one newsletter where he recommended

eating raw ostrich meat and raw eggs. (BLECH) As for the soy, I

think too much of anything (foodwise, that is) is not a good thing,

including soy. I agree, with him it's issue by issue.

Billions (literally) of Chinese and Japanese and other East

Asian people have participated in a giant test of tofu's

safety for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. This is

good enough for me.

Yes, I recognize that East Asians may have some subtle

adaptations making them able to benefit from more tofu -

these could have been accrued through small mutations and

natural selection over the hundreds or thousands of years

that they've been eating tofu. I'll accept that risk.

I cross streets too, and drive a car. I don't worry about

it much.
