I actually started it for the very reason you metioned. Some of us were members of a busy list but it was only recipes, and every time we got chatty with eachother we caught flack from some of the members. We wanted a place that was a pleasant mix of both so I formed feral. Although I like sharing new recipes, I also like interesting discussion about vegetarian topics. My personal interest in vegetarianism is more health related than anything else. I've also learned much about the abuse of animals in factory farms that has literally " turned my stomach. " And information about these farms on the environment is something that I never realized before. I can see now that vegetarianism is much more than " not eating meat.
