Guest guest
Hello and welcome! Starving, wanting something quick, and trying not to get something out. Here's one I like that I can do in 15 minutes: 2 breaded chik patties (I like Bocca's) 1 can cream of mushroom soup the soup can filled with milk (I use no fat) about 1/3 cup 2% sharp cheddar grated handful or two of frozen baby peas 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp black pepper tsp butter or margarine (optional but I throw it in) your choice of pasta (somewhere around 6 oz) Turn on the oven for the patties and the eye you'll be using for boiling the water. Fill a pot with water and place on the eye. Take the peas out of the freezer and put in a little bowl on top of the stove to help them thaw. On low medium heat put the soup, milk, cheese, garlic powder, pepper, and margarine in a pot. When the water starts to boil throw in the pasta. When the oven heats up put in the chik patties. Stir the soup every now and then so it doesn't stick. When the pasta has cooked drain and add to the soup mixture. Turn the soup mixture up to medium - medium high to thicken the soup and allow the pasta to absorb some of it. This takes about 3-5 minutes. While the pasta and soup are cooking together, take out the cooked chik patties and chop into about 1 inch squares. After the soup mixture has thickened some throw in the chopped chik patties and peas. Mix and cook for 1 minute longer. I like having this with baby carrots out of a can, green beans, or a spinach salad. Another 15 minute quickie idea if you have a steamer I like Uncle Ben's garlic butter rice that cooks in 15 minutes. I just following the directions on the package. I throw prewashed carrots in the steamer. Start washing and chopping what fresh veggies I have.. zucchini, squash, broccoli, onions, green peppers, etc. Throw in the broccolli next. In a couple more minutes I put the zucchini and squash. About the last 3 minutes of steaming, I throw in the onions and peppers. During these remaining three minutes I chop fresh cilantro and parsley for garnishing the steamed veggies. I also use a little salt and pepper and sometimes some mushroom soy sauce. Surprisingly enough, I find this meal to be very filling and just eat it w/ the rice and veggies. hth, karen
