Moderately serious study of wicca. Just to make sure

we're on the same page, evocation or invocation?

I just found this page:

<http://www.darksites.com/souls/pagan/abiegnus/invevo.htm>

Not necessarily sure I exactly agree with the page but

it gives a fair idea. It seems more oriented to ceremonial

magick as opposed to wicca. Nevertheless invocation calls

something into the invoker whereas evocation calls up

the presence of something. That is an oversimplification

but . . .

I've only been studying wicca for 2 or 3 years so I'm

certainly no expert. I'd certainly be interested in

listening into the discussion though.

The cooking of yams?

Here's one from VegEats with some slight

modification by me. Looks good. I should

try it.

" This spread serves as an appetizer with your favorite ff

cracker or pita chips. For other meals, its a vlf bread

spread.

2 medium to large sweet potatoes

2 T. vegtable broth

1 medium onion, minced

1 T. maple syrup

1 T. tahini

salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and

2. bake potatoes until soft.

3. When potatoes are nearly done, " saute " onions

in broth, lowering heat until they are limp

and nicely browned .

4. Place the onions in a food processor or bowl.

Scoop out cooled potato flesh into the food

processor or the bowl you will use to mash

all together.

5. Mash up potatoes, onions, maple syrup, tahini,

salt, pepper and water if needed. You are

looking for a peanut buttery consistency,

I have been known to add a 1/2 t. of

coriander and felt it enhanced the recipe.

An important element is to get the onions nice

and brown, sort of a toasty taste, and I will next

time, chop the onions and bake with the sweet

potato!

This makes about three cups with 10 calories per T.

I hope you enjoy this as I have enjoyed recipes from

this wonderful list!
