Guest guest
This is a wonderful time-saving recipe that I have used when I knew I couldn't be home during the day tending the sauce. Add your own favorite touches.... Slow-cooked Spaghetti Sauce 1 package Yves veggie ground round (other brand if you prefer, but enough to equal one pound) 1 medium onion, chopped 1 Tbs olive oil 2 can (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce 1 can (6oz) tomato paste 1 bay leaf 1 Tbs brown sugar 4 garlic cloves, minced 2 tsp dried basil 2 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp salt 1 tsp dried thyme Hot cooked spaghetti In a skillet, saute onion and Yves ground round in oil until onion is soft. Transfer to the slow-cooker (crock pot). Add the rest of the ingredients; stir. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. Discard bay leaf. Serve over spaghetti. Yield: 6 to 8 servings *I always add 1 Tbs minced capers to this recipe and some chopped green peppers if I have them in house. ~ P_T ~ The cost of a thing is the amount of what I call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run. -Henry David Thoreau, naturalist and author (1817-1862)
