My wife served 22 years in the USAF, retiring as a Major, and you're

exactly right, it's sure not the military to blame for starting wars, etc.

 

This is just like those morons who spat on returning Viet Nam veterans,

calling them baby killers -- utterly ridiculous, unfair, and revealing

only of the spitters' idiocy.

 

Truth is the vast majority of the military folks are poor folks of every

race, color, and creed who either go into military service because that's

about all they can get as a job, or who are drafted by cynical rich folks

out to start a war for profit. (And yes, a draft has been mooted.) The

thing is, everyone who serves ALSO is doing their best to serve their

country, and it involves a hell of a lot of sacrifice even in peacetime.

It's not an easy life, and anyone condemning the military just doesn't

know what they are talking about.

LOL - exactly so, and in our system everyone is entitled to the best

defense money can buy, eh?
