Guest guest
First I want to say " hi " and thank you for inviting me to this most informative group. I was a vegetarian, though not a very good one (I ate Ramen Noodles, McDonald's French Fries, etc.), years ago and due to having married a meat-and-potatoes man very young had gone back to eating meat and other junk for a long time. Lo and behold, I have gradually developed health problems over the last few years and finally woke up to the error of my ways and instead of going on the medications the doctors were trying to force on me, I switched to Vegetarian and organic foods and manage to be Vegan most of the time and I've been able to thumb my nose at my doctor because I am very healthy now (and I've only been doing this for a few months!) without the aid of pills, and I've never felt better in my life. Anyhow, not much of a cook (so I don't know if this qualifies as a recipe, more of a suggestion) and I try to eat raw foods every day and found that salads can lose their appeal so I've started spicing them up with Mexican ingredients: Salad Base: Mixed greens with your choice of raw veggies Add: I like Garlic Lovers Hummus; Desert Pepper Trading Company Corn, Black Bean & Red Pepper Salsa; and occasionally I add Jalepeno Peppers. Experimenting is recommended! I like these salads so much I eat them for breakfast, lol!

I can understand nixing diet pills, junk vitimins, RX drugs, and medications with terrible side effects, but anyone who believes our food supply has all the nutrients and the right quantities we need will have a " sad " awakening in 10-15 yrs when they discover that their " very healthy now " body suddenly isn't.
