Guest guest
When My son was in preschool, the mothers were assigned a week each to supply the treats. I wanted to do something cool!! and not the usually cookies, cupcake thing. So I got my cookie cutters out.!! I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and then used the cookie cutters to cut the sandwiches into shapes for the little guys. It was a smash! the kids loved it. So anywho I thought I'd share.. Guest guest
That is a great idea for kids. Thanks. I used to bake a loaf of frozen bread dough (the kind you buy in bags of 5 in the freezer section of the grocery store) in a patterned tube pan. I have one tube shaped like a heart, and another tube shaped like a star. We'd just spray the tube inside with non-stick cooking spray, slide the dough in to thaw, cut the excess off first if it had risen or expanded too much, then bake it in the tube on a cookie sheet incase as it baked some of the dough puffed out the ends of the tube. I believe I bought these metal bread tubes from a Pampered Chef party. The loaf of bread would come out in a shape so that when you cut it you had mini-sandwich slices in heart or star shapes. My kids always loved them. Your post reminds me that I should do those again for their lunches. On second thought, they are older now. I better ask them. They may not think they are so cute and get picked on. *lol* ~ P_T ~ A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. -Greek proverb ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , AnnaJames91@c... wrote: > > When My son was in preschool, the mothers were assigned a week each to supply > the treats. Guest guest
I did this with my son...Now I continue to do it with my daughter (10 mos and in love w/PB & J). Her favorite shape is gingerbread man:) Patrick would get cactus and the star of Texas. The kids really do love it, don't they?
