Guest guest
I didn't complain. Merely stated that seeking to " warn " people of content -- like those pathetic stickers on CDs saying PARENTAL WARNING: MAY CONTAIN HARSH LANGUAGE or what ever, or those equally specious ratings for movies -- is pre-censoring, and also presumes you'd know how others may react. I don't presume that far, you see. It's my contention that if my subject line doesn't let you know you'd better avoid this one, then certainly my first sentence or two will, and at that point, duh, stop reading and move on, y'know? There is NEVER any excuse for anyone to bitch about having been offended by something they READ -- the reading is their choice, and the reaction to what they read is their responsibility, not the writer's. Suppose I go do some vile crime and when caught I say, " It's because of what Lady Sappho wrote, lesbianism drives me to extremes. Now, isn't that my insanity, not yours? Or do you honestly think the cops should come and arrest YOU because I'm saying something you wrote " made " me do things? This is why I don't even try to figure out what a response will be when offering opinion. I mean, all I'm doing is yapping my own yap, and if you don't like it, no problem. I can understand differences of opinion. Just shrug and roll your eyes at my utter idiocy and move on; easy.
