Speaking of lunchboxes

Remember those (for all you 30 or 40-somethings on the list) cool

metal

ones we used to get every year with the matching thermos? I didn't

get new

and trendy ones like some of the kids I considered " lucky " , but

rather I had

this one that I carefully chose that was red plaid; might have even

been a

royal Stewart tartan. *lol* Lots of kids carried Scooby-do, The

Monkeys or

The Partridge Family lunchboxes. I was more into classical-chic. ;) I

sure

wish I had kept it. I even saw one just like it at an antique toy

show selling for

$100!

On another note, my son actually requested yesterday that I make his

favorite soup recipe to pack in his lunch today. How could I refuse,

especially

when it is a vegan recipe?

If you want to make it, just check our files section in the soup

folder and click

on Yuletide Hearth Soup. The way he likes it best is with a green

bell pepper

finely minced in the food processor and also for me to puree the can

of

tomatoes (used mexican style with jalapenos). I add 1 extra tsp of

chili

powder and 1/2 tsp of Louisiana Cajun seasoning.

Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of

proportion a

child's loss of a doll and a king's loss of a crown are events of the

same

size.
