Guest guest
1 pound lentils, washed ( red, green or a blend) 1 Tablespoon olive oil 3 stalks celery chopped 1 1/2 cup TVP chunks 4 carrots , chopped 3 small cloves chopped garlic ( less in your dog has a sensitive stomach) 2 bay leaves 2 teaspoons liquid soy lecithin 1 teaspoon dolomite 2 Tablespoons spirulina 1/2 teaspoon kelp 2 Tablespoons tomato paste 1 teaspoon liquid smoke water to cover In a slow cooker or large pot combine lentil oil clery TVP, carrots, bay, supplements and tomatoe paste Add water to cover and stir in liquid smoke Simmer until lentils are soft. Adding more water as necessary. Caution if your dog does not like much gravy when lentil are getting soft quit adding water and let water come off . Let cool and put in processor and blend for about 1 minute add enough wheat germ to firm just slightly usually about 1/4 cup. When completely cool put in air tight container and store in refrigerator and feed to your dog as you would otherwise. You can also add other vitamen supplements to your foods if you feel your dog needs them. You can also substitute rice for the wheat germ which my dog loves, and add quite a bit. I try to stay away from using much corn products as it swells in a dog and can cause problems.
