Guest guest
I had to chime in too... don't forget me. I live in the UK. In Wales to be precise. It is pretty easy to be a veggie in the UK if you cook for yourself. Supermarkets have a wide range of veggie fast food, and most sell the healthier foods aswell, which i prefer. Its a different story when you're eating out though. You're lucky if you get 2 choices. And they're both heavily cheese based. there's only so much veggie lasagne a girl can eat!!! Guest guest
Now Laura, how could I possibly forget you ;=) !!!! But hey, I don't remember having a difficult time eating vegetarian in the UK - but of course I eat dairy and eggs when I travel (as occasionally at home) and that helps. I usually head for asian restaurants, though, when I get tired of the ubiquitous veggie lasagna - and middle eastern restaurants. And I do realize good ones - or even tolerable ones - are not available everywhere. Come to think of it, most of our trips to the UK in the last, say, ten or more years have centered around London - and everywhere does not have London's variety. But everywhere - and you're right - they sell good vegetarian food in the supermarkets - including Marks and Sparks - even Boots provides interesting veggie sandwiches. I bought from M & S a lot when I visited rellies further afield - so that I could be sure to have something to eat ;=) best, pat - canada > I had to chime in too... don't forget me. I live in the UK.
