Guest guest
It's all down to big business practices putting > profit ahead of all other > concerns, even genuinely bad health risks. It's > this more than anything > that has rendered us so universally obese and > unhealthy, and incidentally > it's also the marketing that keeps us complacent, > even apathetic, about it. Yes, but in the end it's our decision. I am adult enough and intelligent enough to bypass all the nonsense. And I'm all for business. That's what keeps our economy flowing. It doesn't piss me off when I see advertisements for products like meat. Some of the commercials I find quite entertaining. WHen I see an advertisement for a big mac at midnight, does it make me want one? NO. But does it make a thousand other people want one? YES. And it's their decision and their fault they want one. The thing that pisses me off most is finger pointing and blaming everyone else for our vices. If I eat a greasy slice of pizza, it's because I wanted to, not b/c Pizza Hut made me. Well, many schools > now sell fast-food > chain burgers at lunch. And ketchup, remember, > counts as a vegetable -- > the Reagan administration declared it so. Oh and one thing about Reagan. He was the first person to blame cows for methane production. Do you remember that? He was being persecuted by the liberals for pollution caused by factories, autos, etc. What did he say? Cows cause more damage to the ozone. He was laughed at by the media. Everyone thought he was moron. Twenty years later, the environmentalists have the bright idea to point fingers at cows. But who thought of it first?? That evil scum Republican, Reagan. Media is media. Always has been completely absurd and always will be. I watched a segment on FOX news the other night about babies dying in their parent's bed. 64 a year die that way. Did they mention how many die in their cribs? Over 2,000. Just an example of how ludicrous the news, the marketers, the advertisers, etc are. Warmly, Allison Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.
