Laura:

Thank you for your very kind, considerate, tactful and

helpful e-mail. I have read it from start to finish

and agree with everything that you have said. We have

people in the group who are all ages, sexes, races,

and nationalities. We are all here for our own

reasons. It is interesting to see how different

people think differently. It would be wrong of me to

attempt to change everyone's thinking to agree with

mine. That would also be a futile and rediculous

task. I believe it is more beneficial to me to learn

that I cannot change other people.

The spiritual message I saw in your posting was to

Live And Let Live; i.e., to let other people define

vegan any way they want. It is important to me to

reiterate that I am not here to have someone else

define vegan for me, however. Likewise, I'm not here

to have anyone tell me how to eat or how to live.

That goes without saying.

I'm quite sure that no fist-fights or law suits will

come from any such differences of opinion. Probably

the best thing for a thin-skinned person to do is

ignore my postings. I do likewise with the postings

that I do not care for. By taking issue with my

postings, or anyone elses, a small issue becomes a

bigger one.

It's not about being thin-skinned!! It's about communicating accurate,

useful information to those who don't really know what the terms mean.

I've been veggie for over 20 years, and I'm proud of how my life has

embraced the ideas and concepts involved with " not eating meat. "

Here's the bottom line--you get to choose if you want " to eat meat or not. "

You do not get to confuse and mislead others into thinking that your diet is

" any kind of vegan, " when in fact you are " barely vegetarian. " Enough said!
