Guest guest
For those who are vegetarian or vegan in an attempt to improve or preserve their health, I submit here a link to a book review in _The Globe and Mail_ - titled 'A scary bug story' it reviews Michael Chnayerson and Mark J. Plotkins's _The Killers Within: The Deadly Rise of Drug-Resistant Bacteria_ (Little, Brown). It's from the Satufday, December 28, 2002, edition - book section (I'm still catching up ;=)) http://WWW.TheGlobeAndMail.COM/servlet/HTMLTemplate/search?tf=tgam/search/tgam/S\ earchResults.html & cf=tgam/search/tgam/SearchResults.cfg & current_row=1 & start_row=\ 1 & num_rows=10 The review article, which naturally focuses on Canadian content ( _G and M_ is after all Canada's natiional daily), discusses inter alia 'how modern factory farms are perfect breeding grounds for antibacterial resistance'. Give a printout to Aunt Sadie and Mom and all those people who think you're killing yourself on a veggie diet ;=) Better yet, give em a copy of the book with their next offering of Easter Ham or Christmas Turkey or whatever. best, pat --- PAT (In London, Ontario) Email List: townhounds- (townhounds/) Personal Email: SANTBROWN Personal Webpage: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
