Guest guest
I don't know about vegetarian fish sauce, and that is a good question. I am pleased to hear from you that there is a vegetarian oyster sauce. Could you please give me a brand name to look for? I saw a few recipes in this " vegetarian " card file set I received as a gift a long time ago, but never tried them b/c they called for oyster sauce and never could find one that didn't contain...well, oysters. *lol* TIA ~ P_T ~ You can sometimes count every orange on a tree but never all the trees in a single orange. -A.K. Guest guest
I know, it seems unlikely doesn't it :=) However, the brand I have in my kitchen is Y & Y brand 'Vegetarian Oyster Sauce' - no added M.S.G. It lists as its ingredients: water, mushroom, salt, sugar, modified corn starch, caramel, sodium benzoate. It is a product of Malaysia and is packed for Young & Young Trading Co. Ltd. (Scarborough, Ontario), and in my case comes in a 425 ml bottle. The price has disappeared. I obtained it from a small Chinese grocery store in town here. best, Pat -- PAT (In London, Ontario) Email List: townhounds- (townhounds/) Personal Email: SANTBROWN Personal Webpage: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. Guest guest
Thanks a bunch, Pat. This gives me something to shoot for. There is an Asian Mkt in the next town over, and I have been meaning to get there to buy some supplies. I am likely to find it there, you'd think anyway. *s* ~ P_T ~ Please subdue the anguish of your soul. Nobody is destined only to happiness or to pain.
