NO, NO, NO, don't take Quorn away!!!! Finally!, our local Publix (Sarasota FL)

has started carrying the stuff so we tried it for the first time this week. I

really really like it, and so does my husband (see previous post about

veggie-carnivore relationships). He says it has the most tender texture and is

the most satisfying meat-like substitute he has tried so far.

If I was selling the stuff, how would I explain how it is made without turning

people off? Related to mushrooms is maybe something people could understand,

rather than made from organisms found in dirt in large vats. Eeewww! I dunno

though, except it has been used in Europe for some time and it tastes good, so

I'll buy it.

Don't worry. Neither CSPI nor I have any power in the

matter.... anyway, I'd only like to see their advertising

cleaned up a little.

I'm eager to try it myself: our local stores don't carry

tempeh, much less quorn! Next time we get up to the

*wonderful* Wegmans in Nearest Small City, I'll look for

quorn.
