Hi,

the raspberry fool is pronounced quite literally, as when you would

call someone a fool. Its quite an english thing, which i forgot when

i was typing it up really. The ingredients don't need to be precise

really because its so simple... a fool could do it! hehe (excuse the

pun!) So don't worry about " throwing it together and hoping for the

best " , because it will work, i promise.

Just noticed there are a couple of other Lauras on the list (like

the Pats!), just to confuse things even further! So from now on i'll

put UK after my name (I live in Wales at the moment). Like the

other Laura, i'm quite new to vegetarianism too. I have been a

veggie in the past, and have always wanted to live more ethically,

but i've now been a veggie for about 5 months. I don't intend to

become a vegan (well, not at the moment anyway) but i'm very open to

cooking more vegan food. Although i'd find it hard to do without

cheese completely, i don't eat eggs or honey and don't really have

much milk. And now i don't buy leather, suede etc either.

My biggest challenge in becoming a vegetarian is other people's

prejudices, well, to be specific, my family's feelings about it. My

friends and work colleagues are quite cool about it and a few are

veggies too. But my family think its wrong and assume i'll be very

ill! Now they don't say anything but my dad tells me my mum is

worrying about what to cook for me when i go to visit, which i'm

sure is a guilt trip coz i always cook with my mum and she always

has loads of veg in! Anyway, i know they only worry out of love, so

i do my best to reassure them.

Hope this vegetarian/vegan debate doesn't heat up anymore! Phew! I

must say though its made for some interesting reading! Lets just

remember we're here to share and make friends.

bye for now,

Laura UK x

It gets easier ;=) Their prejudices don't change, but your response to

them does. Just eat as you want to, which happens to be vegetarian, and

not let them think you're trying to convert them or make them feel

guilty (well, not much) and they'll probably be glad of the extra slice

of Sunday roast that they can have on their own plates, regardless of

what they say - right?

and see, I tried to avoid the pun!

myself, as well. My milk, cheese, honey, etc. are great, and I try

to avoid " cruelty " in the other aspects of my life... I had gone to

the hairdresser to get a cut, and asked him what was wrong with my

hair (it was pretty much dull, lifeless...) After ascertaining what

my shampoo/conditioner was, he informed me that it was the animal fat

in it. Now, here I am, with no idea. He said that he had done an

internet search on all the ingredients and found that some had animal

products in them and they caused my poor hair to be all weighted

down... well, I got me some " botanical " stuff and it really helped

(my hair and my well-being!)... just thought I'd share that anecdote.
