Guest guest
Just sitting-back after my New-year's eve soya'n beans chilli-non- carne, when Pat wrote:: > Pat Meadows pat wrote: > >An alternate means of doing this is using a text-based mail/news program > rather than OE. A few suggestions: Pegasus Mail ( http://www.pmail.com ) is a lot less susceptible to junk than OE, although not quite as user-friendly. It's a much better alternative to a text-based program, though. Mozilla is also much better than Internet Explorer for browsing. It has settings for blocking a lot of the junk, including barring of images from sites you don't want to see. Mozilla also has its own mailprogram, but I find Pegasus better. http://www.mozilla.org If you're prepared to spend a little time setting it up, Proxomitron is one of the most effective ad-blockers. It's a bit technical, though. http://www.proxomitron.org All of the above are free.. Use at own discretion, I use them all the time. Going on the Net today? Wy not visit http://www.tibetsupport.org.uk and support the cause of the Tibetan people.
