Yeah exactly. I bet a yogurt dressing would be delicious; never liked

the mayo

mixed with fruit idea.

 

Reminds me of one of my college jobs working the salad bar at a local

restaurant. The owner pestered me all the time that I needed to taste

everything on a regular basis to tell if it was fresh. Some of the

items on that

salad bar were god-aweful. The most offensive thing was the chicken

liver

pate; I refused to taste it, even if it meant the peril of my job. I

was a

vegetarian and that stuff was nasty.

 

Vincent: You have got to test it to know if it is fresh!

 

me: I just cannot. It looks like shit, smells like shit, so I imagine

it is gonna

taste like....

 

Vincent: *laughing* Okay, okay. You don't have to test it. Just have

Larry (the

chef) check it for you daily.

 

me: *breathed a sigh of relief; kept my job*
