Guest guest
Does anyone have any appetizer recipes they would share. Something fairly simple. We are invited to a party this evening where everyone is to bring appetizers for a buffet. Thanks in advance. Robin in NC

It's from the Sunset Book, " Menus and recipes for Vegetarian Cooking, " page 13. Sorry for the scan, but I don't have time to retype it today. Guest guest
In the files section I have several recipes listed. I think the right folder is entitled 'SNACKS'. Click on that for some ideas to get you started. I am going to a gathering tonight and making a spinach dip served in a bread bowl. I think this recipe is in the files section as well, but incase it isn't here it is again: Spinach Dip in a Bread Bowl 2 cups sour cream 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix 1 package (10oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained 1/4 cup chopped onion 3/4 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1 round loaf of bread Assorted fresh vegetables to dip In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Chill for at least 1 hour. Cut a slice off the top of the loaf; set aside. Hollow out the bottom part, leaving a thich shell. Cut or tear the slice from the top of the loaf into bite-size pieces. Fill the shell with dip; set on a large platter. Arrange the bread pieces and vegetables around it and serve immediately. Yield: 10 to 15 servings Also, I add some finely chopped water chestnuts to this recipe for a bit more texture; more garlic as well. Most everyone seems to like this, and the bread round makes for a lovely presentation; looks like you fussed, but it is so easy. Hope this helps a bit to inspire you. Guest guest
No, I am sorry about that, Dave; my doing. It was requested that when I started this group, that I put the settings so as not to allow attachments. I guess many folks had troubles with viruses and rogue attachments bugging their PCs and prefered not to have them. Could you post the link and/or cut and paste the full recipe here anyway? TIA, and my apologies for any inconvenience. ~ P_T ~ Every passage has its beacon. Every shadow has its light.
