Favorite Christmas gift: six 'mini-chest-of-drawers' from IKEA. These are real wood, with a natural finish (light color). Some of them now hold all my herbs and spices, neatly alphabetized, plus other 'little stuff' - silken tofu boxes, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. This in turn frees up space in the main cabinets, which are now tidy. The kitchen 'mini chest-of-drawers' fit nicely into a bookcase which is in our kitchen. The bookcase holds them, plus kitchen appliances that I don't have room for on the countertops: bread machine, etc. The remainder of the mini-chest-of-drawers are on my 'computer desk' (really our former dining room table). So all my papers are neatly organized and out of sight! Also, one drawer holds pens, stapler, etc. Since my 'desk' is really a table, it has no storage capacity - so I really needed these. If anyone else is interested, these are NOT on the IKEA website, at least I cannot find them there. They are in the current (2003) paper catalog, page 197. So if you're interested, you could request the catalog - there's a form to request the catalog on the website. We ordered them by mail, IKEA will ship items. The nearest IKEA to us is down by Philly, more than 225 miles away. It would have been cheaper to buy them in the store, of course.
