Guest guest
Hi everyone.. well i wanted to wish you all the happiest of holidays this year. I have been reading your wonderful posts and hoping to try a few of the recipies you sent through. I have found it very funny this year, it seems most people im meeting seem to think that ill come to my senses at the holidays or that ill grow out of this for the holidays and eat meat. I have had people say , well of course you are making a ham for the kids arent you ? and im like ummm no or they will ask if im cooking a turkey and ill be like umm no.. and then i get this " well you have been vegetarian for months now and i dont see you loosing any weight, if its not working why do it ? " gee thanks so now your calling me fat ? hmm well its a good thing im not so shallow that im only doing this to loose weight huh ?? I guess the fact that i actually care about what goes into my body is a real eye opener for people LOL... but the greatest compliment was the other day when i saw a friend who hadnt seen me since my lasy chemo in september and he said " YOU LOOK WONDERFUL, what are you doing ? " I told him i was loving myself enough to care about what goes in my body and im taking vitamins and exercising and doing well.. cancer is out ofmy body but i have alot of lasting effects of chemo still sadly but that was a great compliment after hearing that others feel because you are vegetarian that you cant possibly know how to eat. I nearly had a coronary today when hubby cam eup to me in the whole foods store with his bottom lip out and 2 packages.. well im italian and he is from england so when i saw organic italian sausage and organic english bangers i laughed my butt off.. how cute of him to think of me.. hope he's hungry LOL.. so i marched over and picked up my tofurky some tofu and tempeh and then i felt like my christmas season was now ready to roll...i think im on the way to vegan,, it just seems to be progressing that way... any advice ??although i like my organic mozzerrella cheese... Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful and full of life. for being open minded enough to think outside the box and find a new way to be healthy and happy and for having this group where we can bounce ideas off eachother and complaints about those odd people who eat meat LOL Happy Holidays to you all - Kath
