Guest guest
My mother was an avid holiday baker and made plateful after plateful of all manner of goodies to share with family, friends and neighbors. Our back porch was full of boxes of fudge, painted marzipan, cookies, and even hard candies. I am not as ambitious as she was, but I do a fare bit of holiday baking. I know it isn't practical to do an actual one, but perhaps we could do a cyber exchange of our favorite holiday cookie recipes; ones we generally make every year as a tradition. Maybe also sharing where we got the recipe and some memory associated with it, etc? ~ P_T ~ Words are things; and a small drop of ink / Falling like dew upon a thought, produces / That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think. -Lord Byron, poet (1788-1824)
Guest guest
Good idea P_T, I was going to suggest a Finger-Food Net Party for next week, however I like your idea better. I already have a recipe/tradition/memory ready. When can we submit or will it be on a certain day? Peace, Shawn Oh shoot P_T, that stuffed mushrooms recipe will be coming shortly, I almost forgot. I just gotta get it. " If, at first, you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment. " " If at first, you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried. Guest guest
Sounds fun! I'll share a candy recipe though...I prefer candy making to cookie baking. Guest guest
Wonderful. I like your idea, too. We should do that after the cookie recipe exchange, especially since some of us might be having New Years gatherings where finger food recipes will come in handy. I enjoy finding new recipes like that to prepare. As far as the cookie recipe exchange, how about we make a week of it, and begin on this coming monday. That will give everyone time to type it up or gather the recipes they plan to share. I think I will place all of the recipes I'm bringing in one post... but I am not sure yet. *lol* ~ P_T ~ Dictionary: The universe in alphabetical order. -Anatole France, novelist and essayist (1844-1924) ~~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " _- MatrixenO -_ " <matrixeno@h...> wrote: > Good idea P_T, I was going to suggest a Finger-Food Net Party for next week, > however I like your idea better. Guest guest
Woohoo! Perfect timing. My Mother is going up this weekend to Missouri to visit her Mom and siblings. She is coming back on Monday. Hopefully, she will drop by my place with a care package (crosses fingers and knocks on wood). My Grandma uses real popped popcorn in zip-lock bags to protect the goodies in the box. That's the best tasting lining I've ever eaten. Last night I fixed some cookies (well it's kinda a cookie/sandwich thingy) to go up there with Moms. Hopefully they enjoy them.
