Guest guest
This recipe is for a tartar sauce served in a Minnesota restaurant called O'Hara's Brew Pub. www.oharasbrewpub.com It was the inspiration for my own recipe that I made by adjusting it a bit to fit my taste. O'Hara's Tartar Sauce 1 quart mayonnaise 2 cups sweet pickle relish 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 2 Tbs lemon juice 1 tsp sugar 1/4 tsp white pepper 1/4 tsp ground mustard 1/8 tsp Worcestershire sauce In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Yield: about 1 1/2 quarts. ~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~ I didn't need to make as much for my use as the O'Hara's recipe, and theirs seemed a bit too sweet to me. I like mine to be a bit more dilly and to have a touch of spice. Here is what I came up with. If any of you here make your own tartar sauce, I would love to have you share your recipe with me. Maybe I will find some ingredient in yours to add to mine; or maybe I will just like yours better all around. *lol* PT's Tartar Sauce 3 cups mayonnaise 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish 1/2 cup dill pickle relish 3 tsp lemon juice 1/4 tsp dill weed 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/8 tsp cayene pepper 1/8 tsp ground mustard 1 dash Worcestershire sauce In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Cover and chill until serving. Yield: approx 4 cups sauce. ~ P_T ~ Without darkness there are no dreams. -Karla Kuban, novelist
