Guest guest
That sounds lovely. I am originally from upstate NY, in a sleepy little town of only 5,000 nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mtn range. You are more isolated than I have ever lived before, but it must be wonderful in many ways once you get used to planning ahead and making sure you don't foget something at the store. *lol* ~ P_T ~ It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues. ~ Abraham Lincoln ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~ , Pat Meadows <pat@m...> wrote: > We live in a beautiful, beautiful place that I adore. I looked for Rotel the other day (the canned tomatoes with hot peppers): nope. There won't be any tahini, for instance, in all probability. No lots of stuff. We have two pharmacies and one (just opened) health food store - but we can't afford the health food store's sky-high prices plus they mostly have vitamin pills. A little Mennonite-owned general store nearby has some items in bulk (beans, rolled oats, 20 lb sacks of wholewheat flour, etc.) - that's a BIG help. But the saving grace for people living in an isolated area now is (of course) the Internet! I do a lot of my shopping on the Web. And we don't feel isolated, we keep in touch with the world via the web, newsgroups, and mailing lists. Pat -- Pat Meadows Books, books! Low prices. Music CDs too! http://www.wellsborocomputing.com/sales.html
