Guest guest
I agree completely with this. My father-in-law was far stricter than a Vegan in his diet, yet could not lower his cholesterol significantly. And nutritionists vary widely, some even advocating trend diets. Olive oil is excellent, as is soluble fiber in whole grains, especially oats. Further, fish oil capsules are prescribed for me. the Omega-3 fatty acids being beneficial and found best in fish. This may raise ethical questions with you, or questions of whether health and survival come before being kind to fish, but it's true that fish and fish oil is the single best source for this important weapon in fighting high cholesterol. > Just a note about bugging doctors until you get the treatment that you > need... I'm in the military system, which is essentially socialized medicine with the HMO model tossed in for good measure. It's appalling, and only the patient is ultimately responsible for accepting or rejecting recommended meds and treatments. Look out for yourself, and arm yourself with as much information as possible from many legitimate sources. > Good luck! > Genie > > " An artist is usually a damned liar, " D.H.
