Guest guest
Now you could get a bit gross and tell a scarey tale of the headless horseman before serving this ghoulish delight on Halloween. Something about a gooey dip with a red sauce coupled with grim thoughts of severed heads.... bwahahahahaha But seriously, this dip is really good! ;-) Pizza Dip In A Pumpkin 1 small pie pumpkin ( 2 1/2 lbs) 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper 1 Tb butter or margarine 2 1/2 cups pizza sauce 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup finely chopped vegetarian pepperoni 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tsp Italian seasoning Breadsticks & crackers Cut top off pumpkin; scoop out seed and fibers. Replace top; bake pumpkin on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes or until hot. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Stir in the pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Cook and stir over medium heeat until heated through and cheese is melted. Pour into hot pumpkin. Serve with bread sticks and crackers. Yield: 3 cups dip ~ P_T ~ We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form. -William R.
