Guest guest
Everybody here probably has their favorite recipe for this type of dip. This one is my personal favorite. Spinach Dip in a Bread Bowl 2 cups sour cream 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix 1 package (10oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained 1/4 cup chopped onion 3/4 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1 can water chestnuts, chopped 1 round loaf of bread (I like rye) Assorted fresh vegetables to dip In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Chill for at least 1 hour. Cut a slice off the top of the loaf; set aside. Hollow out the bottom part, leaving a thich shell. Cut or tear the slice from the top of the loaf into bite-size pieces. Fill the shell with dip; set on a large platter. Arrange the bread pieces and vegetables around it and serve immediately. Yield: 10 to 15 servings A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. -Greek proverb
