Guest guest
I dated a man from the Dominican Republic for a while and can vouch for the extreme difficulty involved in relationships such as those. He was a great guy, very educated, spoke beautiful English (much better than my Spanish then) but still... Now I am dating, for over 3 years!, a man from around San Antonio. I have to say, there are culture differences here too! But, he is " the one " and is what I pictureed in my head when I thought of my perfect man. But, it is not to say that cross culture relationships can't work, I have plenty of friends who prove that it can, it just takes tons more work on BOTH sides. I also seem to think that it may be easier for an American male to marry a foreign female. Often, countries like the Dominican Republic have less develped women's rights which makes it easier for the foreign woman to adapt " up " to advanced civil rights than the man.... Just a thought.
