Guest guest Posted October 11, 2002 Report Share Posted October 11, 2002 Vegan Cheese 1/3 cup nutritional yeast flakes 2-3 cups water 1/4 cup tahini 1/3 cup cornstarch 1 Tbls. onion powder 2 Tbls. lemon juice 1 tsp. salt Optional: 2 jalapenos or chapodeloy chilies in adobo sauce or garlic, etc. Place main ingredients (not opt.) into blender. Blend till smooth. Cook & stir in pot on medium heat till it boils. Boil about 5 seconds. Take off heat, add optional ingredients, if needed & serve or use in recipe. I always add jalapenos at the end, never had the cheese plain. I use it as a dip with chips, I haven't used it as an ingredient yet. I love the stuff. Cheers, Shawn.
