Guest guest
I uploaded 15 of our recipes into the files this morning, so we should be caught up through October 2nd. Pat, are you sure you aren't a full-on vegetarian? You sure sound like one from your posts. Thanks so much for sharing all your ideas and tips. I especially appreciate the ideas about worchestershire sauce you gave me yesterday. I didn't realise they came in a vegetarian version. My bottle of French's brand has anchovies, so I assumed that most probably did. I will definately have to seek some out. This puts my mind at ease and opens up a bunch of recipes I refused to try cooking b/c I figured they wouldn't taste the same or as good without it. *s* Thanks also to Shawn for the brand name WIZARDS. It gives me something to look for on my next shopping trip. Paradox =pair of dockers? *groan* ::::laughs:::: Gene, your mind works in mysterious ways. Shawn, what is " Pico de gallo " ? I don't think I have ever heard of it. Is it pickled peppers? If any of you have more vegan recipes to share here, I'd appreciate it. I haven't done much cooking like that and I would love to try some. Have a pleasant day, all. This is partly because I'm now married to a 'meat and potatoes' man (an Englishman, at that!). He's obliging about eating veggie stuff though he's not fond of tofu (except in chocolate mousse and other desserts!) or tempeh. But he'll eat most veggie entrees. We both have health problems and our life has been a struggle recently, so I'm just not willing to add an additional complexity and DH wants meat now and then. But I have always enjoyed cooking vegetarian stuff MUCH more than I have enjoyed cooking meats. More variety, more complexity, more scope for creativity. And I tend to the 'natural foods' side of cooking, whether veggie or non-veggie. I've been cooking in this manner for almost 30 years now (I'm 58). Goodness, I was a pioneer in the natural foods movement, I suppose. It was really considered freaky back in the 70s. Pat -- Pat Meadows Books, books! Low prices. Guest guest
Hi P_T, first off you can visit this website http://www.edwardandsons.com/organic_sauce.html to take a look at the Wizard's Worchestershire sauce, plus plenty of other organic sauces that looked interesting. Pico de gallo technically: pico de gallo Definition: [PEE-koh day GI-yoh] Spanish for " rooster's beak, " pico de gallo is a relish made of finely chopped ingredients like jícama, oranges, onions, bell peppers, jalapeño peppers and cucumbers, along with various seasonings. This condiment was so named because it was once purportedly eaten with the thumb and finger, an action that resembles a rooster's pecking beak. Now me LOL: There are several variations, but here in the south you will mainly see it in restaurants with chopped tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and cilantro with added lime juice. My recipe is basically the same but add chopped garlic and subtract the lime juice. I eat it with tostada chips and add a little salt to each dipping of it (if you add salt to the recipe it will extract the juices from the ingredients - so that's up to the person). This relish goes great added to other Mexican recipes. Hope you have a great weekend. Cheers, Shawn. > " ~ P_T ~ " <patchouli_troll > > > Thursday greetings. >Thu, 03 Oct 2002 16:56:13 -0000 > >I uploaded 15 of our recipes into the files this morning, so we should be >caught up through October 2nd. > >Pat, are you sure you aren't a full-on vegetarian?
