Hi Melinda. I'm Jeanne, alias JC who lives in B.C.

Canada. I really have enjoyed so much being in here. I

know you will too. :)

Your husband sounds like mine Pat. He doesn't like

brown rice either tho he knows it is healthier for

him. He just doesn't like all that chewing. So now I

will have to buy white rice. What I will do is put the

brown rice in soups or the Spanish rice that I make.

Then I know he'll eat it then.

I have made whole wheat tortillas and didn't use

shortening but used either vegetable oil or olive oil.

Here is the recipe if you like.

1-1/2 Cups of whole wheat flour

1/2 cup of white flour.

Just enough water to make a nice dough,

1 tablespoon of oil (vege or olive)

1/2 tsp of salt.

Let this sit for at least 2 hours or at least over

night then make it into small round dough and flatten

them into a tortilla (as thin as you want them) Put

them in a hot frying pan and brown only to your liking

and then enjoy.

And this is healthy and not too hard to make at all

and it is really good. Not fattening either.

I like it here too P_T I found it very interesting and

fun. :)

Well take care everyone. Keep smiling now. Even when

you don't feel like it. JC

all right. "

Mine won't. :( But he's British and thought the epitome of

good nutrition/fine dining was a meal consisting of baked

beans and french fries (chips to him), he's come a long way

in what he will eat since we've been married. A long long

ways.

It's an awful nuisance to make two batches of

soup/casseroles, etc. But I'll be darned if I'll eat white

rice, so I separate stuff before I mix rice into it.

Sounds good too, I'll give it a try.
