This is so good, and refreshing for a warm day treat. My daughter requests I

fix them for every b-day party. They make good slushies and you can keep a

few bags of these cubes onhand for when you want something a bit different

with afterschool snack.

Fruit Slush Mix

4 cups water

4 cups sugar

1 (6oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate

1/2 cup lemon juice

1 (46oz)

can pineapple juice

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Heat until sugar is

dissolved. Add orange juice concentrate, lemon juice, and pineapple juice. Fill

6 or 7 ice cube trays. Freeze until firm. Remove cubes from freezer trays and

store in freezer bags. Label and date contents. Use within 6 months. Makes

about 100 small cubes.

Variations: You can add 5 or 6 mashed bananas to mixture before freezing.

Also you can play around with different kinds of juice... like cranberry etc.

To make a glass of fruit slush, fill a glass with slush cubes and cover with

ginger ale. Let it stand for 15 minutes and stir. Garnish with orange wedges

or pineapple slice.

To be well informed, one must read quickly a great number of merely

instructive books. To be cultivated, one must read slowly and with a lingering

appreciation the comparatively few books that have been written by men who

lived, thought, and felt with style.

-Aldous Huxley, writer (1894-1963)
