Guest guest
Okay, okay, I know this isn't a conventional vegetarian list recipe, but I am a non-conformist. *lol* I love this recipe for homemade chocolate syrup. Works in all kinds of treats, like a nice warm mug of hot chocolate, or chocolate soy milkshakes, or topping for icecream, you name it. Like I said before, I am just going through my favorite recipe books and card files, pulling and typing them up at random. Please feel free to share your favorite recipes for what you cook here. Chocolate Syrup 1 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/3 cups boiling water 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract In a heavy saucepan, combine cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Gradually stir in boiling water. Stir frequently over medium heat until smooth and slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour into a 3 cup jar with a lid and store in refrigerator. Best if used within 10 to 12 weeks. ~ P_T ~ Many people take no care of their money till they come nearly to the end of it, and others do just the same with their time. -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, poet, dramatist, novelist, and philosopher (1749-1832)
