I'm definitely a dog person. My parents got me a cocker spaniel puppy

for my first birthday, and other than the few years I was in University,

I've always had dogs. The first thing I did when I got out of school

was get a dog. Over the years we've had several (as many as 4 living in

the house at a time, including a couple of HUGE dogs - an irish

setter/black lab cross, and a newfoundland/st. bernard cross). I miss

the big dogs, but since I don't live in the country anymore, small dogs

seem more apropos.

Currently I have just one...Jack. He's a beagle/chihuahua cross. I

know that sounds terrible, but he's adorable. He's totally spoiled (I

can't understand why anyone would have pets if they're not going to

spoil them), and the king of our castle. You can see pictures of him at

www.picturetrail.com/sherria in the album entitled " Jack " . He just

turned 9 last month, and is still quite spry when he wants to be. He

has bursts of playful energy interspersed with periods of lazy

contemplation. LOL

I can't have kids, so my dogs are my children. My mother's secretary

once told me that, if there's such a thing as reincarnation, she wants

to come back as one of my dogs cuz she can't imagine a better life!

Yep, I'm definitely a dog person.

BTW, in case I didn't thank everyone, the smoothie recipies were very

helpful. I'm still sick, but doing better and trying to force myself to

eat solid foods as much as possible. I don't have much energy for

cooking, but the local pizza joint delivers great salads, and my

favourite Indian restaurant has tons of vegetarian dishes they'll

deliver to me. If anyone has a recipe for saag paneer (called paneer

palak some places) and/or baingan bartha, I'd love to have them! A

recipe for that wonderful delicate lemon rice you can get at Indian

places would be wonderful as well.
