(BTW, these recipes are all imported from my Now You're Cooking recipe

Gosh, I have so many, I couldn't pick just one or two. Sorry for the long

post. Also, I'd add a chunk of tofu to any smoothie. It doesn't change the

taste or consistency of the drink and it adds SO many good things to it.

Especially if you are sick! I take a block of tofu and cut it into 4 squares

and place one square into any smoothie I make. Enjoy! Oh yeah, and be sure

to print them out!!

Avocado Frappe

 

smoothies - fruit

 

1/4 medium avocado, ripe

3 tablespoon brown sugar

3/4 cup soy milk

4 ice cubes

2 teaspoon lime juice (fresh)

 

Place all ingredients in blender. Whirl until smooth and thick. Pour into

tall glass and serve.

Cherry Plum Blossom

 

smoothies - fruit

 

1 apple, golden skinned; peeled, sliced

4 plums; peeled, sliced

3/4 cup cherries; pitted, frozen

2 tablespoon honey

1/2 cup water; (adjust)

1/4 cup almonds, fresh; ground

1 teaspoon lemon juice; optional

 

Combine apples, plums, cherries, honey and water in blender. Puree smooth.

Add ground almonds or a drop of almond extract if desired.

2 oz tofu, soft

1 scoop soy protein powder

 

Combine all in blender. Blend until smooth.

Cholesterol Cleanser

 

smoothies - fruit

 

3/4 cup red wine, fruity

1/3 cup apple juice concentrate

1 1/2 cup cherries, pitted; frozen

1/2 cup blackberries, fresh; frozen

 

Combine the wine and apple juice concentrate in a blender. Add the

cherries and blackberries. Blend until smooth.

Combine the frozen yogurt and grape juice in a blender. Add remaining

ingredients. Blend until smooth.

2 cup watermelon, seeded; diced

1 cup strawberry; quartered, frozen

1/4 cup raspberry sorbet

2 teaspoon lime juice (fresh)

1 pinch salt

 

Combine the watermelon and strawberries in a blender. Add remaining

ingredients and blend until smooth.

1 container, (6 oz) soy yogurt, orange

1 cup cantaloupe, fresh; cubed, frozen

1/2 cup soy milk, vanilla

1/4 cup orange juice concentrate (frozen)

2 teaspoon orange peel, grated

 

Place all ingredients in blender. Whirl until completely blended and

smooth. Pour into tall glass and serve.

Peach Almond Smoothie

 

smoothies - fruit

 

1/4 lb tofu, soft

2 large peach; pitted

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 drops almond extract

1 teaspoon honey, light

1 cup soy milk

1/2 cup ice

 

Put tofu and peaches in the blender with the vanilla and almond extracts

and puree until smooth. Add the honey, milk and Picante, continue to blend

until smooth then serve.

Peach Take-Along Shake

 

smoothies - fruit

 

1 container, (8 oz) yogurt, lemon

1 cup fruit juice blend

1 cup peaches; coarsely chopped

1 teaspoon honey

2 each ice cubes

 

In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until just smooth and creamy.

Pineapple Zest

 

smoothies - fruit

 

1/3 cup cranberries; rehydrated

1 cup pineapple chunks

1 medium apple, red; lightly peeled

2 tablespoon orange juice concentrate (frozen)

1/4 cup almonds, fresh

1 tablespoon honey

1 cup apple juice

1/2 cup pear juice

 

Rehydrate dried cranberries. Combine with pineapple, fresh apples and

juices in the blender. Puree smooth. If you choose to add nuts, grind to

a fine powder using an electric seed grinder. Add to blender and pulse.

1/2 cup pineapple chunks; frozen

1/2 bananas (medium); sliced, frozen

1/2 teaspoon lime juice (fresh)

 

Combine the tofu and pear nectar in a blender. Add al the remaining

ingredients. Blend until smooth.

1/2 cup almond milk

1/2 cup yogurt, plain

1/2 cup tofu, silken

1/2 cup dates; firmly packed, chopped

2 tablespoon tahini

1 bananas (medium); frozen, sliced

 

Combine the almond milk, yogurt and tofu in a blender. Add all the

remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

Spicy Apple Tree

 

smoothies - fruit

 

2 apples, fresh

1 medium bananas (medium)

1/4 cup raisins, dark; soaked

1/4 teaspoon peanut butter

1 tablespoon honey

1 pinch cinnamon

1 pinch coriander powder

1 cup water

3 - 4 ice cubes; optional

 

Peel banana and lightly peel apples before slicing into small pieces.

Combine in the blender with remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth.

Add ice if desired and reblend.

1 teaspoon instant lemonade mix

6 ounces cranberry juice

1 block silken tofu

 

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

1/2 cup pina colada juice

1/4 teaspoon coconut flavoring; optional

1 teaspoon lime juice (fresh); optional

 

Combine all in blender until smooth.
