Guest guest
We wave ours, and it comes out crisp and crumbly. You have to have a microwave " grill " , which is plastic but grooved so it acts as a grill. But with this recipe I adapted it with the butter and the bacon to have the bacon flavor in 1Tbs. of some kind of grease to be used later to saute the onions. I suppose you could use anything you liked that is lighter ... like say olive oil. The original meat-bacon recipe version called for reserving 1 Tbs. bacon fat to fry the onion in, so that is how I dealt with that. ~ P_T ~ Speech is conveniently located midway between thought and action, where it often substitutes for both. -John Andrew Holmes
