Guest guest
My mother is not a vegetarian, and she is notorious for grilling up a wonderful (not my opinion) london broil steak. Bleh! However, the marinade for it always intrigued me. While I was back east this past summer, I made a point of having her copy down her recipe for me. While on a recent camping trip with other meat eaters I shared the recipe and I brought along some mushrooms that I had marinated in this way. I imagine you could use this recipe to marinate tofu, fake chicken patties or strips, and fake steak strips...whatever. It is tried and true with mushrooms; they were very yummy! 1/2 cup red wine *only use a wine you would actually drink...cooking wine sucks, IMO* 1/2 cup oil *I use virgin olive oil* 1/2 cup soy sauce 1Tbs. garlic powder Mix together in a sealable container and marinate whatever inspires you for dinner that night. I imagine this would work for veggie kabobs as well. Only marinate for an hour or so depending upon how porous your food items. Mushrooms take less time than say crunchy bell peppers. Then grill to perfection. Voila! ~ P_T ~
