Guest guest
Hello All, A very good friend has gone all raw for 2010 and I am looking for a good place for friends to host a raw birthday celebration, out at a restaurant. Any ideas for good places to go in the MVA area, preferably DC? He mentioned a place called Liquid Earth in Baltimore...anyone been there and is it a nice atmosphere? Many thanks for any suggestions! peace & light CeCe
Guest guest
Yes, my parents took me to Liquid Earth for my birthday last October 12, since it was the only raw-friendly restaurant (among a scant few in the Baltimore area) that I hadn't visited & was intrigued by their menu posted on their website. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the preparation on the spot of each meal right in front of the customer and the personal attention from the waitress, though I'll admit we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. I think my birthday was a Sunday night last year, but the quality of the food, which was supposedly made of organically grown fruits & veggies, along with a delicious raw chocolate superfood smoothie, were 2nd to none. With all due respect to Skai, I was much more impressed with Liquid Earth than Yabba Pot, as were my parents, including my ultra-conservative (hard-core carnivore) Republican father. They both remarked how much more they enjoyed LE than YP, though neither of them are likely to ever become vegetarians themselves. At least they went out of their way to accommodate me on my birthday. They insisted we go out to eat; I never initiated the idea. I chose Liquid Earth primarily because Jody Allen's Loving Life Cafe went out of business in New Oxford, PA, a couple of years ago, and this place was a decent substitute which happens to be a much shorter drive from Owings Mills. Suffice to say, I highly recommend it, and it has to be a heck of a lot better than the One World Cafe, which has nothing raw, and barely anything vegan. LE's staff seems to be making a concerted effort to not only make everything from organic ingredients & as freshly as possible, but also increase the variety of raw vegan options. I hope they've continued in that direction since Oct. 12. If there were organized raw or vegan events there, I'd visit more often. Guest guest
I've also heard good reviews about Liquid Earth, thanks David, I'd completely forgotten about it. CeCe, check out the Menu at www.liquidearth.com and be sure to click on "Raw" at the left of the first two pages. You can also scroll up or down on the right.
