There will be three options for certification: Option 1. 200 hour certification meeting on Tuesday and Thursday October 6, 2009 to January 28, 2010. This course includes the following weekend schedule: Saturday/Sunday October 10 & 11, 24 & 25, Novemeber 7 & 8, 21 & 22, December 5 & 6, 19 & 20, 2009. Price for This option is has been reduced to $2,600.00. Payment Plan: $500.00 Down by the first session $525.00 per month for 4 months Option 2. Basic Kemetic Yoga Certification: Weekends only. This course will meet on following Saturday/Sunday schedule for the months of October, November and December. The dates are: Saturday/Sunday October 10 & 11, 24 & 25, Novemeber 7 & 8, 21 & 22, December 5 & 6, 19 & 20, 2009. This course can be combined with other YogaSkills Kemetic Yoga teacher trainings, retreats or special workshops in order to achieve the 200 hour certification. For an example you can combine this training with an the intensive in Jamaica March 3 to 10, 2010 and achieve the 200 hour level certification. Price: $1,500.00 Down Payment of $500.00 Two payments of $500.00 per month Option 3. Kemetic Yoga Intensive Montego Bay Jamaica March 3 to 10, 2010. Price: $1,500.00 double occupancy, does not include airfare. Option 3a: Online Distance Certification. Includes an online curriculum, video and one in person contact. Price: $750.00. Kemetic Yoga/YogaSkills Method Teacher Training and Certification Curriculum Outline 1. Techniques Training/Practice—Includes uniquely ancient Kemetic Yoga Movements and Postures (Asanas), Traditional Yoga Asanas, Breath Control Techniques and Principles (Pranayamas), Moving and Controlling Life-Force (Kriyas), Chanting, Mantra, Meditation and other traditional yoga techniques. This section will combine precise practice techniques to develop expertise in the performance of Yoga with an equal emphasis on the techniques of teaching others. Participants will be guided by Master Yirser Ra Hotep through this process with 75 contact hours. 25 hours will be dedicated to self-study of traditional and ancient Egyptian Yogic concepts and the YogaSkills Method (YSM) of Yoga practice, technique and theory. 2. Teaching Methodology—In this section students will learn the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student's process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga. Included will be teaching special populations such as children, the elderly and those with various injuries and/or health issues. 3. Anatomy and Physiology: In this section students will learn the principle of anatomy and physiology from two perspectives based upon the idea that humans are made of more than one aspect. The physical aspect of anatomy and physiology will be explored. This entails understanding the structure of major aspects of the body such as skeletal, muscular, joints, tendons, etc. From a physiological perspective we will explore the various physical systems such as digestive, eliminative, nervous, circulatory etc. Next will explore the " bio-energetic " body which is composed of the Chakras, Nadis and various other energetic entities. We will look at how physical body and bio-energetic correspond and work together. We will explore the nature of illness and disease and how Yoga asana, breath work and meditation create a state whereby the body is able to heal itself and the scientific foundation of this notion. This section will also include Kemetic terminology for the energy bodies and structures. 4. Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers: In this section we will explore the ethical aspects of Yoga as a science of living designed to optimize existence. The role of the Yoga teacher as an agent of healing and social justice who is dedicated to the upliftment of humankind will be explored. We will examine examples of Yogic archetypes in ancient and contemporary times to glean lessons and insights into the principles that should guide our behavior. This section will also include an explanation of Kemetic spiritual science, Kemetic symbolism and exploration of Kemetic Cosmology and NTR. 5. Practicum: In this section students will practice teaching and will receive feedback. They will also have the opportunity to observe and critique other teachers and to assist students while another instructor is teaching.
