You'd pay $20 to see Big Name Raw Person who will then tell you you need hundreds of dollars of their products? Or would you spend $50 to see Big Name?Would you spend $50 to see Little Name Person not selling anything but knowledge?Would you spend $50 to see a food demo class and have some tasting? Would you spend $150 to see a food demo class, have some food and get a piece of paper at the end (called Certification --- but really if it's only coming from Little Name Person it doesn't mean anything except that they gave you a piece of paper)?thanks -- trying to learn and create what is needed.~~Sharon GreenspanBoard Certified Holistic Health Practitioner* Eliminate Stress * Have More Energy * Relieve Chronic Pain * 301-816-0752check out my new look:~~~ www.wildsuccess.us ~~~ On Sun, Sep 6, 2009 at 3:23 PM, Asia Bleu <asiableu9 > wrote: Hi Sharon, All,I honestly felt that the food at the festival was extremely over priced. I agree with the person who said just having a large salad bar would have been nice. I mean, it cost a lot to attend the event and $15-$20 a day for a small appetizer, raw chips and some fruit was just too much for me. I appreciated Khepra Anew (I hope I am getting his name right), the Chef from Senneb cafe who, on Sunday, managed to create a delicious plate of food for $12. I still thought that was a little high---and would have prefferred $10. But, it was PLATE of food with several dense and filling items, vs. say $8 for a small live taco and another $3 or $4 or $5 for a beverage. Since this was my first Raw Spirit Fest. I thought there were going to be a LOT of food vendors with different items, raw desserts, entrees, and items I don't usually have time to make at home. I would have been willing to pay a bit more to try those items. But, (at least on Saturday) there didn't seem to be many options. The water situation was also particularly challenging. Regarding your questions, If I were going to a high-end raw restaurant, I would expect to pay what similarly priced restaurants charge. I know that's vague, but, it's hard to be more specific than that. Again, at a fancy restaurant, I would expect the food prices to be higher---commensurate with what similarly ranked establishments charge. If I am going to a raw deli or cafe, I do not want to pay high-end restaurant prices, especially for things I can make at home.If I am taking a class or workshop on raw food, I would be willing to pay anywhere from 10-100$ or more depending on, who is presenting, the length of the class/demo, and the kind of meal included.
