Guest guest
I don't how many of you have seen or heard about this story but it is something that affects all of us and especially thoseof us who form or use home based food co-op. Even though this was an organic co-op this family did consume meat product as well and we should all be very concerned about this. Here again the government is trying to control what we eat and how we obtain. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/05/02/Unconscionable-Police-Raid-on-Familys-Home-and-Organic-Food-CoOp.aspx Tanya
Guest guest
What happened to them is absolutely horrible! A few points to note, however....they were running a business -- in fact, a store -- from their home. One cannot discern if they had proper zoning to have a commercial space in a residential zone. While this doesn't matter in the big picture, it gives a legal ground for action. they were storing food products and selling them -- again, something that has regulations attached. This is very different from food buying clubs and coops where food is bought and quickly distributed on designated pick-up days. again, what has happened is horrible. I'm not sure what we can do to help. Perhaps one thing is to ask our local stores to carry products from the suppliers that the Stowers were using and in that way help to keep healthy options a viable business: http://www.mannastorehouse.com/suppliers.html Tanya -- thanks so much for simply attaching the link rather than forwarding the article -- makes it much easier to read and source supporting information.~~Sharon GreenspanBoard Certified Holistic Health Practitioner Nutritional Consultant * Energy Medicine Practitioner301-816-0752www.wildsuccess.us On Sun, May 3, 2009 at 1:45 PM, Tanya Strivers <striveta wrote: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/05/02/Unconscionable-Police-Raid-on-Familys-Home-and-Organic-Food-CoOp.aspx
