Dog gone Rice just won't sprout! Have any of you ever experienced this? I've been soaking this rice for well over a week now! The only reason I haven't tossed it yet is that I keep remembering how much is was per pound. But then again, Victoria Boutenko told me that in this life, you're sure to toss something out, make a mess in your kitchen and be WOWed or NOT by your creations.

Flops anyone, that you dare to speak of?

From my understanding, the Black/wild rice is no longer a live food, which is why it doesn't sprout It swells when soaked enough and splits, revealing a some white, that many (including myself) have mistaken this for sprouting.. Gabriel Cousen's has discussion on this in his book, "the Rainbow Green Live Cuisine"

My experience with sprouting has been that, if something wouldn't sprout, it was because I had soaked it in tap water. When I switched to soaking in distilled water, everything sprouted. I have never tried sprouting black rice, though. Helena--- On Tue, 4/21/09, E. Rice-Fells <shortydemp wrote:
