Since I have been in California a lot lately, I cherish experiencing

all the fresh food choices. I long for the same availability in my

DC/MD/VA area and am optimistic it will one day happen. After leaving

the San Francisco Airport, I decided to stop by Que SeRaw SeRaw, a raw

restaurant one highway exit away from the airport.

I had the GREEN OLIVE PIZZA - $7.00

Topped with cucumber, fennel and cherry tomatoes

on a walnut/zucchini crust with cashew/tahini " cheese "

and green olive tapenade with parsley and lemon. Bursting with flavor

although I would prefer a little less lemon.

Surprisingly easy to eat as a to-go item although I would choose some

thing else if eating on the run (or in the car).

NORI ROLLS - $6.00

filled with organic Avocado, cucumber and julienned carrot

Organic soaked-overnight almonds, sunflower seeds, tahini, celery,

onion, parsley,

lemon, garlic, kelp powder and sea salt. Satisfying, well-balanced and

I wish I purchased more to eat later.

ALMOND MILK $4.50

a pre-prepared drink of almond milk blended with banana, vanilla and

sea salt. That was descent although I'd prefer to drink a

made-to-order drink--thick, settled banana is not my thing. But a

descent drink option if you want to purchase a quick raw smoothie

instead of a bottled item from the store.

I also had pad thai that I really enjoyed that was slightly spicy and

really creamy (possibly because of the blended almonds in the sauce)

and tasted some new crackers that the owner Alicia let me taste with

some pate.

The greatest thing to me: all the items that I purchased were already

prepared and super fresh. I didn't have to wait at all. They have a

stable of items preprepared with specials every day as well as catering.

Every one was very nice and since the restaurant is only for carryout

(takeout), you walk into small room with display cases where you can

see them (including the owner) blending and creating behind the counter.
