My congratulations and good luck wish goes out to Tanikka, owner of dcproducecoop and owner of Eastern Organics. As you'll see below, Nikka has been selected as a finalist to be awarded a grant that would help to put her somewhere near over the topped for establishing a healthy community based program.

Many of you who have been satisfied participants of dcproduce for the past year or so should understand the significance of this possibility and I'm hoping, asking and expecting each of you to send in a vote for her.

Greetings all,

I'm happy to let you all know that I have been selected for a grant finalist from Idea Cafe's Small business grant. It's for Eastern Organics and it's worth $1,000.00.

I want to use the grant money to get fundraising and community (neighborhoods- in need) programs up and running. Meaning, I want to use the funds I get so that other folks don't have to pay to do community fundraising and we can give the community an opportunity to have fresh organic foods when some markets don't carry them or have very limited sources and very high prices. The money would allow us to get the programs started without having to raise Eastern Organics prices for the programs.

Now the catch, as I said, I'm a finalist and I'm against 29 other folks for the grant. In order to win the grant I have to have folks vote for me. This is where all of you come.

You can only vote once and you have to vote by June 22, 2008. You must be a registered person in their site- meaning you have to set up a account. You will not receive junk mail, it's a business group site that gives you information about successfully starting a business, so all I need you to do is sign up and vote for me, you can later cancel your account if you like. I've been on there website for about 6 months now and I only received 2 emails.

I am asking you all to send this to folks you know, so that I can get the votes needed and hopefully I'll be sending a email saying thank you thank you, I won I won. lol
