Guest guest
I am starting to lose faith in the 811 diet plan. I have been raw for about 7-8 months, and have been on the 811 much of that time. However, I am still losing weight. I started at 143lbs, I seemed to have been maintaining my weight around 130lbs. for a while. However, this morning I decided to weight myself again and was at 124lbs. I am starting to get concerned. My wife told me I am starting to look emaciated and she is getting concerned. She told me to start eating higher calorie foods. I basically told here I will succeed at the 811, or die trying!I am going to start using my nutridiary.com account again today to ensure I am eating enough. However, I feel pretty certain I am.I would like to gain some of my weight back. Does anyone have some advice? Thanks.PS:I have been eating 15-20 banana's as a main portion of my calories. I am starting to think I should double this amount. Thoughts?Thanks.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. If man made it, don't eat it.www.POISONINGaNATION.com Learn about the power of raw foods at ---> http://www.rawfoods.com
Guest guest
A couple of concerns.. First, are you looking for a eating plan that works for optimal health, or are you looking to make the 80/10/10 work for you? It's possible something else may work as well or even better.... Second, I don't see any particular herb, fruit, vegetable nut or seed as a magic bullet, so such a large percentage of a diet devoted to one fruit, and a hybrid one at that, can be counter productive.. I've been doing raw for about 5 years and started out w/ a similar protocol recommended by Doug Grahm.. For about almost 2 years it was productive, and then the gray hairs started coming back, I was unable to maintain muscle mass, even though I exercised regularly, my gums and teeth lost stregnth, and most important I didn't feel centered and alert.. I focus more now on nutrirton rather than calories.. I've fasted on juice (green juice) for 35 days, and was bubbling w/ energy, and maintain muscle mass and stregnth.. That's to say the calorie needs are not as important as nutrition... Variety is also essential for me.. So an array of fruits, vegetables (leafy greens), and nuts and seeds works well for me.. I also use green super foods, and drink green juices.. I've found the leafy greens to be a better support for maintaining mass than nuts and seeds, and also less heaviness in my energy.. It has helped for me to be open to new or different ways that can work.. It's not necesary for me to get someone else's protocal perfect. Who knows, maybe through your own trial and error you may create your own protocol that could assist others in a similar situation... When I'm experimenting w/ various eating plans, the green juices seem to sustain me.. I'd suggest you add that, or nut milks w/ green super foods and or hemp protien powder.. Eating a high amount of fruits w/ out a lifestyle that requires high energy output (I'm talking world class athlete), leaves the body w/ excess, which generaly depletes the body, and eventually leaves the body defecient... Most important be open to your inner voice, lesson egos, and let go of attachment to any one particular way, and you'll discover the way for you.. Guest guest
Scott, I wonder if you are having any kind of absorption issues. As I've shared before, I was consistently below weight on the raw diet until I started taking digestive enzymes to help in digestion. I gained 5 pounds in a month and have stayed at a very healthy weight ever since (no longer look emaciated) and that was 3 years ago. You can get a good general one at the health food store, but I also have a questionnaire that helps people figure out what they're having the most trouble breaking down and there are enzyme combinations to match the need. The other suggestion would be to add in green smoothies (see rawfamily.com). Mixing nutrient rich greens in with water and your favorite fruits makes for a yummy drink that gives your body tons of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber and antioxidants! A natural supplement. Guest guest
Scott, I think that Nancy is right in the absorption issues. I did have absorption issues (and colon issues) before I went to see my chinese doctor. I think that those absorption issues are slowly disappearing. Also, I remember that you wrote the list with things that you were eating about 6 months ago. Have you stuck tothat or have you modify that? -Tino"pnparlette" <pnparletteTo: Sent: Wednesday, December 5, 2007 5:18:42 PMRE: still losing weight Scott, I wonder if you are having any kind of absorption issues. Guest guest
Greetings Family, While my transition phase seems to be lasting a couple of years, I am very much a raw food vegan. For the past month, I've been juicing my lunch, a head of lacinto kale, celery, cucumber and carrots and/or pears. I still eat vegies sometimes, and when i get home (for better or for worse) i eat a nut salad with a raw tahini sauce or, if i want to put on weight, a cashew sauce, the recipe (thanks Elaine) is simple: 2 cups cashews soaked 1 cup of filtered water juice of 1 lemon salt (himlayan or celtic) pepper and anyother spices you'd care to experiment with agave nectar optional I would love to drop 7 more pounds but for some reason i seem to be steady within the range of 105-107 which for me, as a woman whose 5ft tall is ok, but i'd prefer to be lighter. I"m still "cooking" for my kids unfortunately and our home still has sad foods around. I'm thankful for the strength and inspiration to maintain my convictions amidst these toxins. you'll maintain weight with nuts, avocados, and lots of green juices as Mark said. It's all about how we feel, our outer shell is but a reflection of our inner peace. one love pam Mark Blake <blakensons Wed, 5 Dec 2007 2:15 pm RE: still losing weight A couple of concerns..
