Hello everyone,

 

We're new to this list and just wanted to introduce ourselves. Our

names are Scott & Donna Root and we live in Eugene, Oregon. We

have a small landscaping business - Genesis Gardens and Design with a

focus on edible landscaping. It's unbelievable how many people in this

area include edibles in their landscaping scheme. It makes so much

sense to landscape this way as it is win-win.

 

At the moment we are vegetarian but are eating more raw foods

everyday. We have two wonderful teenage children that are also

learning more everyday and are beginning to make minor adjustments to

their diets. We have received a good injection of motivation by

listening to the raw foods summit that is being presented online for

the next 2 weeks. It started 2 days ago and has some amazing speakers

We have noticed changes in both ourselves and our outlook on life

through these dietary changes. We are also in the process of starting

a non-profit - Edible City - with the express intent of providing

raised beds as well as edible landscaping for low-income, single parent

and elderly households. A friend of ours down south of here has been

running a similar non-profit for a few years and has had good success

in helping others to move their diets into a more healthy and humane

direction and we are extremely excited about the prospect of helping

others.

 

We look forward to reading your wonderful posts and hearing of the

successes as it all helps others including ourselves to become more

motivated to go 100% raw. Thank you all so much for this wonderful
