Guest guest
Hey Lovely Beings, It has been some time since I posted, but I want to send an extra special invite to Raw Soul to join my good friend, and herbalist, Ashley Apple, at her (affordable!) Raw Chocolate and Heart-Opening Yoga workshop this Sunday in Dupont Circle. The longer description is below, but to sign up, head to www.yogadistrict.com. Click on " Online Reservation System " , Scroll to Sunday Oct. 7th, and sign on up. all my regards, ariele Description: Raw Chocolate & Heart-Opening Yoga -- a yoga workshop for the heart, soul and taste buds An exploration into the heart with raw chocolate and heart-centered asanas, pranayama, and music meditation. Discover the medicinal benefits and culinary delights of raw chocolate, nature's most delicious anti-oxident superfood. Learn, also, about the heart chakra and many ways of experiencing the energy of unconditional love, compassion and expansion. We will sample raw choclates before participating in a heart-centered yoga class where we will build the energy and focus at the level of the heart, " anahata chakra " . $30 in advance, $35 at the door. This workshop is taught by Ashley Apple, a holistic clinical herbalist and certified yoga teacher, who travels internationally while teaching workshops on raw foods, herbal medicine and Tantra, and studies for 6 months of the year at Agama Yoga in Thailand (her teacher, Swami Vivekenanda Saraswati, will be at Yoga District at the end of October -- see the schedule for details or go to agamayoga.com). She tapped into raw chocolate as a tool for awakening the heart, and has been amazed by the results. Ashley is also a massage therapist, skilled in Thai massage, passionate about raw foods and vitality and an overall inspiring and amazing person. You can't go wrong with chocolate and yoga! Ariele will be assisting the workshop. (Ariele's NOTE ON RAW CHOCOLATE: Hello all! As wild as it sounds, I actually worked on an organic chocolate farm in Costa Rica years ago [yes, I've had many lives within this one ]. I know what I am talking about when I say that Ashley's raw chocolate is vegan, organic, very minimally processed (just to get the cocoa bean's peel off then crushed into " nibs " ) and picked-over by hand. If you are very sensitive to caffeine, you may not want to eat too much, but you should be fine with a truffle or three. Raw chocolate will taste different than processed chocolate, but if you appreciate dark chocolate, it won't be much of a stretch and is often considered tastier since all of the original cocoa butter stays in [rather than the typical de-fatting and adding new fats process].) If you have unanswered burning questions about the workshop, please email Ashley at rawapplelove Prerequisites: none, really! beginners and advanced practioners welcome, though some prior exposure to yoga will be helpful! Everyone will get something out of this workshop because Ashley's knowledge is vast and very influenced by the unique perspectives of Agama, Kripalu and Tantra yoga and her international herbal and raw foods studies.
