Collective Greetings, Happy Fall! I'm excited to announce all of the wonderful events Avalaura's Healing Center has to offer this month. I've added new classes and services; Ask Avalaura, 30 minute Spiritual Counseling and 30 minute Life Coaching Sessions based on your feedback. Make sure to visit the website for all the details. I hope you will be able to partake in our offerings. And if this month wasn't busy enough, I will also be appearing on the radio and TV! Details will follow shortly. Supreme Bliss, Avalaura Save Money on Produce with the DC Co-op The DC Co op is a cooperative created to offer the public fresh fruits and vegetables at better prices and quality than the markets and stores. The weekly co-operative offers conventional and organic produce. The DC Produce Co-op is a project of Healthy Solutions, a non-profit 501© (3) organization working to enhance the lives of the underserved, underprivileged, and/or marginalized and to help them make informed decisions. Join us to learn how you can

participate in this wonderful program. Avalaura's Healing Center is pleased to be a pick up site for the Co op every Friday evening (except 3rd Friday of the month). Speaker, Tanikka Watford- Cunningham, wife and mother of 3 children, started the DC co-op in November of 2006. She created the co- op because she recognized that consumers were being taken advantage of when purchasing produce in the grocery stores. She used to own a produce distribution company in North Carolina where her company was the only black owned produce

distribution contracted to work with the military. After closing the company and moving to DC, she and her family had to now shop for produce at the grocery stores. This fueled her to take action and start a co op here in the DC area. RSVP Now at avalaura Yoga, Sufism, and Self Realization The Essence of Knowledge of Self Who am I? What is the Essence of Self? We will seek to answer these questions and more during this two hour lecture. This lecture will focus on the ancient knowledge of Vedanta contained in the Bhagavad-Gita and the Upanishads. It will cover the seven levels of the soul contained in Sufi philosophy, and the path to self realization according to Vendantic and Sufi principles. Join us in this free lecture of self discovery and self realization. Speaker, Sufi has written three books on Sufism, traveled to Senegal eight times and lived there for two years. He took his first Sufi initiation in 1996. He has given several lectures on Sufism, meditation, the chakra system, and self realization. He teaches Arabic and Wolof (traditional language in Senegal).

He is also the founder of the Sufi school of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba in Indianapolis, Indiana. be offering a series of four hatha yoga classes outside of Avalaura's Healing Center this October. Classes will consist of sun salutations, pranayama (breathwork), chanting, relaxation and fun! Enjoy the ancient art and science of yoga in the scenic outdoors. Join us every Saturday beginning October 6th to October 27th from 11AM-12:15PM! Additionally, Yoga as a Way of Life workshop is offered on October 6th from 12:30-2PM after the first class. You do not have to participate in the yoga classes to atend this workshop.
